Ocean Views to Cityscapes in San Diego

We love when couples pick a wedding destination that’s near and dear to them… then run with the theme! These two have a deep love for sunny San Diego and wanted to bring friends from near and far to share it with them. From start to finish, they highlighted the best of what the famous beach town had to offer-  welcome party at Stone Brewery, private ceremony at the panoramic Calumet Park followed by dinner and dancing at Sandbox downtown. They did it right!

The ceremony was a perfect reflection of the couple, with just 10 or so attendees, they were surrounded by immediate family and read their own vows as the sun set behind them. Talk about picture perfect! The Singler’s walked them up and down the beach capturing gorgeous photos of the two in their happy place.

The sun went down and the lights turned on (insert costume change here) for an urban walk downtown, posing in front of funky architecture and playful murals. They even stopped by to say hi to Yoda, by the groom’s request!

Guests welcomed the newlyweds into their reception where they enjoyed local beer, craft cocktails and wine that was special ordered from their favorite vineyard. Root Cellar’s market table overflowed with unique cheeses, fresh fruit and local olive oils.

A family style dinner served up farm to table dishes while Casablanca filled the oversized movie screen. We transformed the industrial space by adding some warmth with handmade farm tables from Rustic Events, modern stoneware plates and funky vintage glassware. It was the perfect compliment to their personalities- modern, chic, simple with a little edge.

If you ask us, no party is complete without a disco ball, and even better with a massive one! The lights turned off and the dance floor started heating up with DJ Chris Freeman. An awesome array of desserts debuted some of San Diego’s finest- Babycakes, The Cravory and Extraordinary Desserts.  If that wasn’t enough to fill them up, late night tacos were cooked to order to keep the dance party going. The night ended with a full dance floor, full stomachs and the groom performing an acapella performance of Lynyrd Skynyrd's “Free Bird”. Safe to say it was a San Diego Success!
